We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating Jenny’s life on Sunday 23rd August.
For those who would like to raise a candle or a glass, or hold a moment’s silence, Mum will be cremated on Thursday 30th July.
If you are able, share your photographs and memories by Friday 21st, so that we can gather them all together in time for the day.
The timings have been moved later to fit with other events at Morden Hall Park. The new times are updated below.
There is free parking on Miller Road and the surrounding streets on Sundays. Paid parking is available at Morden Hall Park and Abbey Mills if you would rather not walk.
Wear something that reminds you of Mum. Nothing formal is needed, and nothing new.
The walk and the service are outdoors and the ground can be muddy, so sturdy footwear is wise. Bring a picnic blanket or a folding chair to sit on during the service.
If it is particularly poor we will not walk to Morden Hall. We will meet at the William Morris pub instead and hold the service there.
The walk is largely flat, though it is a few miles and there are a few steps and some uneven ground. If you would rather not walk you are very welcome to travel by bus or car between the locations, joining us for the service at Morden Hall and the reception at the pub. There is parking at each.
In lieu of flowers, Mum would have preferred donations to the Ruth Hayman Trust.
She was not religious, but people of all faiths are warmly welcome to pay their respects in keeping with their own traditions.
Children, too, are welcome. She would have wanted everyone included.
It helps us with numbers for the buffet!
We are gathering everyone’s memories into a book in Mum’s honour. Please give us a story that makes you smile, an adventure you had together, or a kindness she showed.
